Jeffrey C. Fosnes, MD is a native of Denver, Colorado and attended Vanderbilt University in Nashville where he received
a B.A. in 1976. He received his medical degree from the Vanderbilt School of Medicine in 1980. He completed a three-year residency
in Family Medicine in 1983 at University of South Florida's Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg, Florida. Dr. Fosnes
and his wife, Margot, moved to Tennessee in 1983 where he practiced in Centerville for 6 years before joining the medical
staff in Springfield, Tennessee in October, 1989. He is a member of the American Association of Family Practice and
the Tennessee Association of Family Practice and has been Board Certified by the American Academy of Family Practice since
1983.
Dr. Fosnes and his wife have two sons, C.A. (22), a recent graduate of Emory University, and Tyler (19), a sophomore
at Maryville College. He enjoys the outdoors, golfing, and following the Vanderbilt Commodores in all sports.
Dr. Fosnes was an All-SEC basketball player at Vanderbilt where he played from 1972 to 1976. He was a two-time Academic
All-American and was named an SEC Legend in 2005.
